CARISSIMO DIARIO (Dearest Diary),
Bonjour de PARIS…yes Paris!!!
Can you believe I am in Paris right now! OU-LA-LA
STAMATTINA (This morning) I woke up feeling like an adventurer on a mission to create a memory that would last a lifetime: experiencing the final skateboarding event and cheering for my superhero, Arisa Trew, the 14-year-old Gold-Coast legend at the Paris Olympic Games!
So, I packed a bag in record time, grabbed my PASSAPORTO (passport), my MACCHINA FOTOGRAFICA (camera), to immortalize some epic moments to share with mum, dad and Bingo and threw my VERDE (green) and GIALLO (yellow) hat on.
My new inquired Aussie friends and I, made our way to LA STAZIONE PORTA GARIBALDI where we bought a BIGLIETTO (ticket) to Paris.
We boarded the elegant FRECCIAROSSA (red arrow), a high- speed TRENO (train) travelling at 350 kilometres per hour and, in 7 hours we were in the city of lights.
The city is buzzing with excitement! What a fantastic atmosphere and how lucky am I to be here…this is the beauty of living in Europe, in just a few hours of travelling, you are in a completely different country!
The Eiffel Tower is gleaming with all the Olympic decorations, cafes and restaurants are packed with tourists and the Seine River and the surrounding streets are all prepped for races. Everywhere you look, there are flags from many different countries, and people from all over the world.
LO SAPEVI CHE (Did you know that) there are 206 Nations representing the 2024 Olympic Games and more than 10,714 athletes participating in 32 sports? Amazing, right?
Our first stop was a bakery where we bought some macarons and I couldn’t believe my paws, they were so soft, delicious.
We then made our way to the skate park, which is set up right next to Seine River. The ramps and rail were all painted in colours, and there were big screens everywhere showing close-ups of the action. And there, right in the middle of it all, was my hero, Arisa Trew, smiling like always and having the best time of her life.
You could see how focused and determined she was. When it was time for the final round, the whole crowd was on the edge of their seats. I held my breath as she took her turn.
She zoomed up the ramp, flew through the air, and landed the most amazing trick. The crowd went wild! I jumped up and down, waving my little Aussie flag as hard as I could.
And then…the scores came in. GOLD! Arisa, became the youngest Australian Olympic medallist ever, and it was a Gold medal!! I was bursting with pride!
L’INNO NAZIONALE (The national anthem) played, and I felt my heart swell up as LA BANDIERA AUSTRALIANA (the Australian flag) was raised.
I have always thought skateboarding was fun, but watching it in the Olympics is a whole new level.
È ORA DI ANDARE A LETTO (Time for bed now), I need to rest for another big day of Olympic adventures tomorrow.
BUONANOTTE PARIGI (Good night Paris!).
