Milano Magic: Bluey’s Fashionable and Culinary Delight.

CARO DIARIO (dear diary),

My flight to Milano Malpensa was pawsome!!!

I sat by the window and watched LE NUVOLE  (the clouds) go by, and before I knew it, we were landing in Milano, a metropolis in Italy’s northern Lombardy region.

LO SAPEVI CHE (did you know that) Milano is regarded as one of the fashion CAPITALI DEL MONDO (capitals of the world) along with LE CITTÀ DI NEW YORK, PARIGI E LONDRA (New York, Paris and London)?

How FORTUNATA (lucky) am I to be spending a fun FINE SETTIMANA (weekend) NELLA CITTÀ DELLA MODA E DEL DESIGN (in the city of fashion and design)!

Milano hosts the Milan Fashion Week twice a year, one of the most important events in the international fashion systems and is synonymous with the Italian prêt- à -porter industry with many of the most famous Italian brands such as Valentino, Prada, Armani, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana,  headquartered in the city.

After a little nap in my hotel room and a CAPPUCCINO E BRIOCHE, (as they say here for croissant) I headed out to the fashion district, the “QUADRILATERO DELLA MODA”, the city’s most prestigious shopping streets (VIA MONTE NAPOLEONE, VIA DELLA SPIGA, VIA SANT’ANDREA, VIA MANZONI and CORSO VENEZIA).

I would have loved to buy a pair of fancy sunglasses. Still, I couldn’t make up my mind so I headed to a fancy restaurant instead “IL RISTORANTE GALLERIA” where I enjoyed a typical dish “RISOTTO ALLA MILANESE CON OSSOBUCO” (a rich and creamy saffron risotto served with braised veal shanks) while admiring the very elegant and sophisticated “MILANESI” (people from Milano) walking by.

Tomorrow I have a lot of walking to do as I plan to explore as much as possible so BUONA NOTTE (good night) for now.
